Kuala Lumpur, 27 August 2018 – PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) today unveiled its series of mural paintings in conjunction with the upcoming National and Malaysia Day. The murals are a reflection of Malaysia’s pride and joy from places of attractions to traditions that made Malaysians special, a collaboration between PDB and students from Universiti Teknologi MARA’s Faculty of Art & Design.

The initiative is part of PETRONAS’ campaign titled ‘Cerita Kita’, which aims to tell the splendour of Malaysia, capturing beautiful moments and places. The multi-platform nationwide campaign comprises, among others, a television commercial and an art exhibition that provide continuity in PETRONAS’ efforts to promote unity and social cohesion among Malaysians.
Speaking at the event, PDB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin said, “In the spirit of patriotism, we have embarked on immortalising our country’s pride and joy through our murals, each with a story of its own to remind us of our love for Malaysia.”
We have engaged local students to participate in our campaign as part of our effort to showcase local talents as well as to encourage youths to demonstrate their pride for the country through their works of art. We hope to expand this initiative to more stations in the future to continue promoting the local art scene as well as to enhance our station’s visual appeal to make it more refreshing and interesting,” he added.

There are a total of seven murals being featured at PETRONAS stations nationwide, including:
PETRONAS Station (PS) Solaris, Selangor: Bound by Traditions, a showcase of our famous pasar malam, a tradition which we held on to even when progress and modernity surround us.
In addition to the murals, PDB is also curating a series of stories on unsung heroes ranging from its staff, dealers, partners and our customers. These stories can be viewed on PETRONASBRANDS social media platforms.
For members of the public who wish to also share stories of their love for Malaysia, they are encouraged to do so and share with PETRONAS under #ceritakita.
